AJ Capital Partners announced today that it has acquired the Hilton Eugene in Eugene, Oregon. The hotel
will continue to operate as Hilton Eugene until year end, after which, it will begin a comprehensive renovation to convert
to Graduate Eugene, part of the Graduate Hotels collection. The hotel will remain open during renovations and will be
completed in summer 2019. The 12-story, 275-room hotel is in downtown Eugene and walking distance to University of
Oregon’s campus. AJ Capital selected Starwood Property Trust, Inc. to provide financing for the project.
Located on 6th Avenue in the heart of downtown Eugene, the hotel is just steps from Eugene City Hall, the Hult
Center for the Performing Arts and some of the best shopping and dining the city has to offer. The hotel is easily accessible to University of Oregon’s campus, Autzen Stadium, Matthew Knight Arena and Hayward Field.
Created for travelers who seek memory-making journeys, Graduate Hotels® are a well-curated, thoughtfully crafted
collection of hotels that reside in the most dynamic university-anchored cities across the country. Every property
celebrates and commemorates the optimistic energy of its community, while offering an extended retreat to places that
often played host to the best days of our lives. There are currently 11 open and operating hotels across the U.S. and an
additional seven hotels under development slated to open by 2020.
“It is with great pleasure that we announce the acquisition of the Hilton Eugene,” says Tim Franzen, President of Graduate Hotels. “This is a perfect example of our strategy of investing in hotels located in the hearts of truly unique and multi-dimensional university-anchored markets from coast to coast. We look forward to introducing Graduate Eugene, and our signature style of hospitality, to the Eugene and University of Oregon communities next summer.”
The hotel will undergo a comprehensive renovation to convert it to Graduate Eugene, which will touch all guestrooms,
common areas, the restaurant and the hotel’s 30,000 square feet of flexible meeting and events space.
