DoubleTree by Hilton La Torre Golf & Spa Resort will open its doors today, featuring lake-front views, the largest ballroom in the region and four unique restaurants. The new hotel joins four other DoubleTree by Hilton properties within Spain, which will be managed by T3 Hospitality Management.
The 133-room property is located less than 30 minutes from the city of Murcia, surrounded by 20 of Spain’s best golf courses, a range of tapas bars and restaurants, and a convention centre.
Murcia is emerging as one of Spain’s leading leisure destinations as the number of travellers continues to increase. Receiving over 600,000 visitors last year1, tourism in the region is set to rise with the completion of Murcia International Airport this year, making it more accessible than ever.
In the city, guests can explore some of Spain’s most impressive architectural sites, including the Cathedral at Cardenal Belluga Plaza or the Real Casino de Murcia. In addition, the renowned beaches of Mar Menor are only a short distance from the resort, and visitors can take advantage of Europe’s largest lagoon on one of the region’s 300 days of sunshine a year. Mar Menor also offers a range of coastal attractions, including the coves of Torre de la Horadada and the La Manga strip.
“We are delighted to bring the DoubleTree by Hilton experience to Murcia. Guests will receive our signature, warm welcome, which starts with our famous DoubleTree by Hilton chocolate chip Cookie, to feel at home with us in the heart of one of Spain’s best kept secrets,” said Adrian Padina, the hotel’s general manager. “Rich in history, culture and some of the best tapas bars and restaurants, the sun-drenched city offers travellers an indulgent break. After exploring the city, guests can take comfort in our spacious rooms and enjoy our menu, using the freshest, locally sourced products.”
The hotel has 133 modern guestrooms, including royal and presidential suites. All guestrooms come with a 49” TV and their own private terrace, overlooking the lake or golf course.
Guests can take advantage of the property’s leisure facilities, including a spa complete with a sauna, steam bath and ice fountain. They can also swim in the indoor pool or re-energize in the 24-hour fitness centre.
Guests can choose from four restaurants, including Al Fresco, located by the pool, providing the perfect place for a light snack made with Mediterranean ingredients. Alternatively, overlooking the lake and La Torre Golf Course is Bar La Vinoteca, offering a wide range of tapas for Spanish cuisine with a twist. Ginkgo Restaurant observes the lake, serving breakfast and dinner in a relaxed atmosphere. Finally, Restaurante La Vinoteca features a fine dining menu with a wide variety of dishes, blending fresh locally sourced ingredients with imaginative presentations.
