Rimap Hospitality headquartered in Montreal, today announced it has signed a contract with Marriott International to debut the company’s AC Hotels by Marriott brand in Ottawa with a 208-room hotel. The hotel will sit ideally between Byward Market and the Rideau Centre, close to Parliament hill and the University of Ottawa, an area that is home to a growing number of offices, residences, theaters and restaurants. Expected to open in the summer of 2022, the AC Hotel Ottawa will offer business and leisure travelers alike a thoughtful approach to design as well as intuitive, frictionless guest service.

“Following the outstanding success of AC Hotel Montreal Downtown, we are thrilled to be working with Marriott International again to bring yet another AC Hotel to Canada, this time in Ottawa,” said Marc Varadi President of Rimap Hospitality. “With its purposeful design, the lifestyle hotel will offer local residents and visitors a refreshingly unique experience that is comfortable, sophisticated and unobtrusive, allowing guests to maximize their enjoyment and efficiency.”

When it opens in Ottawa’s Byward Market neighborhood, the property will feature modern guest rooms and public spaces designed with sleek furnishings, open closet system, elegant art and hardwood floors. There will be an AC Lounge, a communal space of creativity that features a full bar serving local beers and hand-crafted cocktails, including the brand’s signature gin tonic cocktails, along with tapas plates. The property will provide a European-style breakfast in AC Kitchen and a 24-hour wellness center.

“Rimap Hospitality and Marriott International were an incredible team in opening the first AC Hotel in Canada,” said Paul Loehr, Marriott International, Regional Vice President of Development, Canada. “Based on the success of AC Hotel Montreal Downtown we feel Canada’s capital city is ready for the brand’s fresh perspective on lodging which strikes the perfect balance of details our guests want and the services they need.”
