AAHOA Statement on Introduction of Online Accessibility Act
AAHOA President & CEO Cecil P. Staton issued the following statement in response to the Online Accessibility Act introduced by Rep. Ted Budd (NC-13) which would amend the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 to establish accessibility compliance standards for such websites and mobile applications:
“America’s hotel owners are committed to ensuring their properties are open and accessible to everyone. We look forward to working with Rep. Budd and disability rights groups as we continue to explore avenues to expand access in our society. We are grateful to Rep. Budd for his leadership on this critical issue and his willingness to bring together stakeholders to find a collaborative solution. Hoteliers continue to endure predatory lawsuits, and this bill is a great step in a positive direction for America’s small business owners.”
AAHOA is the largest hotel owners association in the world. The over 19,500 AAHOA members own almost one in every two hotels in the United States.
