The company was founded in 2015 and provides a combination of luxury vacation rental properties and rooms from boutique hotels properties.

Stayfolio says the average stay at one of its properties comes in at around $320 to $440 per night across its portfolio of 200.

The initial growth trajectory has been to expand the business around South Korea but it now expects to launch in other markets.

A particularly successful strategy has been to attract influencers and celebrities to its properties, giving it a sizeable Instagram presence and capturing the attention of TV companies that have then used the company for production shoots.

CEO Benny Lee says: “We wanted to challenge the norm. A great deal of time is spent on travel and we believe that for this investment, travelers deserve to utilize their entire trip, not just their day-time activities.”
