Mercure Conacul Cozieni Hotel Opens in Romania
The Brâncovenesc-style compound is set 19 kilometres east of Bucharest
Mercure Conacul Cozieni opened on September 15th, following major refurbishment and additional development of an early 20th century mansion surrounded by vineyards and orchards. The hotel keeps the Brâncovenesc architectural style of the old mansion.
Placed in the charming natural landscape surrounding the Pasărea Monastery, Pasărea Lake and Pustnicu Forest, the hotel is the ideal location for business and private events, for relaxation, as well as for outdoor adventures. Close to the A2 highway, it has great accessibility from Bucharest, its metropolitan business area and being 30-minutes away from Henri Coandă International Airport, by car and by bus.
The 4-star hotel features a mix of 75 modern and artistically designed Superior rooms, Privilege rooms and apartments, enriched with beautiful paintings created by the young Romanian artist Carina Rusu and wall-decorated with stylized traditional Romanian design motifs. Premium bathroom amenities such Elemental Herbology, a free minibar and a cosy furnished balcony overlooking the poolside bring a unique touch to the guest experience, together with the Mercure “Great Bed for Great Dreams” concept.
The old mansion has been refurbished into a conference venue. The 250-guest Podgoreanu Ballroom with an urban industrial design dominates the first floor and gives delegates access to a cosy terrace. The brand-new modular event space Codrii Vlăsiei featuring splendid artwork, created by the young artist Isabella Stefani, has been added to the compound, fitting events of up to 250 guests. Guests will be surrounded by surprising artistic motifs and representations at every step, such as the tree of life on the lobby main wall, created by the renowned Romanian artist Ileana Oancea.
The international à la carte restaurant and bar Elements boast diverse dishes inspired by monastic menus, local discoveries, and the elements of life – water, fire, earth, and air. The 10-seat T-Cellar is the secret corner where the wine is the king. The hotel offers access to an outdoor pool, a fully equipped gym overlooking the forest, dry and wet saunas, as well as an open-air terrace.
The generous garden surrounding the property, the outdoor parking including 4 electric cars chargers, the solar panels heating the pool water and the recycling of the centenary bricks turned by the inspired architects into beautiful balconies, are part of the sustainability mission of the hotel.
The design of the compound has been commissioned to Studio3 team of architects.
The new hotel will be operated in the framework of a management agreement with Romanian company Next Hospitality.
