Hyatt Centric Opens First Caribbean Hotel in Santo Domingo
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Hyatt Centric Santo Domingo Hotel, marking the brand’s first presence in the Caribbean. Situated in the upscale Ensanche Piantini neighborhood, the new hotel is close to Santo Domingo’s historical sites, shopping, dining, entertainment, and the UNESCO World Heritage-recognized Colonial Zone.
According to General Manager Luis Emilio Gomez Garcia, the hotel’s favorable location provides an excellent starting point for travelers to access the city’s cultural and historical landmarks.
The hotel, with its 130 guestrooms and suites, boasts modern and contemporary design inspired by the work of Dominican artist Thimo Pimentel. Art and ceramic installations and colorful wooden sculptures by local artist Patricio Correa are featured throughout the property. The rooms have 55″ flat-screen HDTVs, complimentary Wi-Fi, and other multifunctional amenities.
The property also offers four dining venues: Aon Food & Mood, Lobby Bar, Burble Rooftop Bar, and Café Caobana. Each venue offers a unique dining experience, from an elevated buffet to poolside snacks and cocktails.
In addition to its accommodations and dining options, Hyatt Centric Santo Domingo offers nearly 13,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, capable of hosting up to 358 people. It also features an 11th-floor terrace with panoramic city views, a rooftop pool, and a 24-hour fitness center.
