Brian Hicks, a distinguished hospitality leader with more than 30 years of international experience, has been appointed as the new President and CEO of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI). Hicks, known for his innovative leadership across significant hotel brands, assumes this role at a crucial time as HSMAI expands its global presence and impact on the hospitality industry’s commercial disciplines.
His extensive background in operations, commercial strategy, and revenue management is expected to advance HSMAI’s commitment to the industry’s sales, marketing, and revenue management sectors. Hicks’ global exposure, having worked in multiple regions and at board and advisory levels with HSMAI in the Americas and Europe, is seen as a significant asset for the organization’s international growth.
Starting his career with a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hicks has held multiple leadership roles across The Ritz Carlton, IHG Hotels and Resorts, and Starwood Capital, contributing significantly to their growth and success. His key initiatives, including establishing the first in-market revenue center for managed hotels in New York City, have made him a forward-thinking strategist in the field.
