Hilton Plans Major Expansion in Egypt with 25 New Hotels

DoubleTree by Hilton Cairo West Leaves

Hilton is set to significantly expand its presence in Egypt with plans to open 25 new hotels, including more than 10 recently signed properties. This significant expansion will bring Hilton’s total portfolio in Egypt to more than 40 hotels in the coming years. The new properties will introduce Hilton’s lifestyle brands, including Curio Collection by Hilton and Tapestry Collection by Hilton, to Egypt for the first time.

One of the highly anticipated properties, the Hilton Cairo Nile Maadi, is expected to open in early 2025. This new hotel will be located in Cairo’s upscale Maadi district and offer contemporary rooms with panoramic views of the Nile and the Pyramids.

“The debut of our lifestyle brands in Egypt marks an important milestone, allowing guests to truly immerse themselves in the rich experiences the country has to offer,” said Carlos Khneisser, vice president of development, Middle East & Africa (MEA), Hilton.

Several high-profile properties are among the new signings. Hilton Cairo Historic City, set to open in 2027, will be located at a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Old Cairo. DoubleTree by Hilton Cairo Downtown, due to open in 2028, will be situated in the heart of the city. Hilton Cairo Suez Road, developed in partnership with Rehana Hotels Group, will be strategically located on Cairo Suez Road, close to commercial and business districts.

The expansion also extends to resort destinations. Concord Co. for Tourist Development S.A.E and Africa for Real Estate Investment have signed three agreements with Hilton to introduce the Curio Collection by Hilton and the Tapestry Collection by Hilton to Egypt’s Red Sea coast. These properties, expected to open between 2025 and 2028, will offer guests unique experiences, world-class food and beverage, and curated experiences.

Furthermore, several existing hotels in Hilton’s Egypt portfolio will undergo refurbishments, including Ramses Hilton, Hilton Pyramids Golf, and Hilton Cairo Heliopolis. In Marsa Alam, Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian Resort will see a significant refurbishment and the addition of 66 guest rooms and suites.

The anticipated growth of Hilton’s portfolio in Egypt will create over 5,000 new job opportunities, demonstrating the company’s commitment to positively impacting local communities and aiding in talent development across the country. Hilton has also launched its hospitality school in Egypt, working with academic institutions and universities to train and recruit the next generation of young hospitality professionals.
