Ameristar Casinos Retains Scott Kaplan as Financial Consultant

LAS VEGAS, March 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Ameristar Casinos, Inc. today announced that it has retained Scott I. Kaplan to provide financial consulting services to the company. Ameristar has engaged Kaplan to consult on strategic transactions and projects, financing transactions and alternatives, internal financial analysis and investor relations.

Kaplan will work with Ameristar following an impressive career over the last decade at some of the nation's premier investment banks, most recently as vice president/Real Estate Investment Banking at Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown in New York, NY. He worked for various affiliates of Deutsche Bank from 1993 to 2002, and he began his investment banking career with Prudential Securities following his graduation from Duke University in 1992. While at Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown, Kaplan was part of the banking team that assisted Ameristar in the $488 million acquisitions of its two Missouri properties in 2000 and approximately $1.3 billion in financing transactions to fund the acquisitions and refinance Ameristar's outstanding debt.
