Hilton Hotels Corporation Names Calvin Stovall Vice President – Brand Marketing Homewood Suites* By Hilton

MEMPHIS, Tenn., April 10, 2002 – Calvin Stovall has been named vice president – brand marketing for Homewood Suites* by Hilton, the national brand of upscale all-suite, residential-style hotels, according to Jim Holthouser, senior vice president, Homewood Suites by Hilton, brand management. Stovall previously served as senior director of brand marketing for Homewood Suites by Hilton, a position he's held since 1998. In his new role, Stovall will be responsible for development and execution of Homewood Suites by Hilton's national marketing efforts including brand positioning in the marketplace, advertising, promotions, direct marketing, public relations, media planning and e-business marketing efforts to drive brand revenue, promote awareness and increase occupancy for the more than 100 Homewood Suites by Hilton hotels. A 16-year hospitality veteran, Stovall began his career as a front desk representative for a limited-service hotel, and later, as an assistant general manager for the Embassy Suites Hotel® in Memphis as a part of the Promus Hotel Corporation's President's Associate accelerated management program. In 1995, he was promoted to the newly created position of manager for new product and services development within the consumer research department where he was responsible for using primary and secondary research to identify product and service enhancements for all of the then-Promus (Hampton Inn®, Homewood Suites and Embassy Suites) brands.

A native of Chicago, Stovall earned his master's degree from Cornell University's School of Hospitality Administration in 1993 and his bachelor's degree in business management from Chicago State University in 1990.
