RCI Launches RCI Points, RCI Weeks

PARSIPPANY, NJ, Dec. 14 /PRNewswire/ — Resort Condominiums International, LLC (RCI) today unveiled RCI Points, an enhanced worldwide points-based exchange program with major new brands, products and services that further strengthens RCI's position as the leading timeshare services company in the world.

RCI Points combines and standardizes both Global Points Network and Club Resorts International, RCI's existing points-based exchange systems. RCI's traditional week-for-a-week exchange service is being launched under the banner of RCI Weeks, intended for those RCI members who prefer this exchange format to continue without change.

RCI Points has been created to provide our members worldwide with a single points-based exchange system offering the greatest possible inventory from our affiliates around the world, with better service and more value-added features, said Ken May, president and CEO, RCI.

As with GPN and CRI, members of RCI Points deposit their timeshare intervals with RCI and receive a quantity of points in exchange based on a number of factors, such as, for example, the demand for and quality of their interval. Members can then exchange these points for a variety of timeshare intervals, units, and other travel services, or bank their points for use in the future.

RCI also announced a program of new products and services to support RCI Points and RCI Weeks:

RCI Points Certification Training, a new sales training program for RCI affiliate sales representatives being implemented by the Shari Levitin Group;
New travel exchange options providing additional travel-related products and services in exchange for RCI Points, including airfare, rental cars and hotel stays;
A relaunch of RCI's magazine for the vacation ownership industry, which is now called RCI Timeshare Business;
New sophisticated collateral materials for RCI members to help them maximize their vacation exchange experience using RCI Points and RCI Weeks;
The rollout of sophisticated technology support through RCI's strategic alliance with Springer-Miller Systems RCI's points product responds to consumer demand for greater exchange flexibility and value-added products and services, said May. The program we are unveiling today demonstrates our commitment to provide better service to our members through enhanced brand identification and better collateral materials, and better service to our affiliates through superior training, technology and communications.

Inventory for RCI Points has been growing at a rapid pace, with new affiliates such as Shell Vacations Club and Hilton Grand Vacations Club signing on in recent weeks, and will also include the resorts of Fairfield Communities Ltd., upon completion of the acquisition of Fairfield by Cendant Corporation, parent company of RCI.

As a service to members, RCI Points will be fully Web-enabled, with a new Internet site devoted to allowing points-based exchange transactions, account status information and vacation exchange planning.

Consumers will soon be offered an entire new package of informational materials presenting the benefits and options of RCI Points and RCI Weeks. Members will now receive an elegant gift package in an RCI Points beach bag containing a membership information brochure and directories for both RCI Points and RCI Weeks, which emphasize the global nature of the new system.

These collateral materials feature a new sophisticated look and feel different from previous RCI catalogs, reflecting the unique position of RCI's exchange products in the marketplace. The creative for the materials was designed by RCI's new advertising agency, Deutsch Advertising, New York.
