ROBERT MCPHERRIN APPOINTED REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF SALES AND MARKETING, NORTHEAST, INTER-CONTINENTAL AND CROWNE PLAZA HOTELS & RESORTS

New York, NY (December 17, 2001) – Robert McPherrin has recently been appointed Regional
Director of Sales and Marketing for nine Inter-Continental and Crowne Plaza hotels
in the company's North East region. Prior to this appointment, McPherrin was the
Executive Director of Hotel Marketing for Treasure Island at the Mirage in Las Vegas
where he was responsible for marketing programs for the 3000-room hotel.
McPherrin will lead the development and implementation of all sales and marketing
programs within the region to drive hotel-level revenue and room night sales. He
will be instrumental in creating tactical plans that will improve the levels of hotel
customer satisfaction across the region's portfolio. In addition, he will work closely
with the company's development and asset management team to clarify brand and program
requirements in support of brand expansion efforts. Further, McPherrin is responsible
for identifying and leveraging all marketing and sales synergies to maximize profits
for the region as a whole.

The Barclay New York, where McPherrin will be located. Bob's tremendous marketing
experience will serve the company well.
McPherrin has over 15 years in the hospitality industry. Prior to his job at Treasure
Island, he was the Director of Marketing for the Hotel Inter-Continental Chicago.
McPherrin's previous experience includes the role of Director of Sales and Marketing
for the Fairmont Hotel at the Dallas Arts District and various sales positions with
Regent Hotels, Marriott Hotels and Resorts and Hilton Hotels Corporation.
McPherrin holds a Master of Education from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor
of Arts from Loyola University of Chicago.
