February 11th, 2002; Kempinski Hotels & Resorts announces its
participation in Visa International's Enhanced Data project for
business travel management involving selected Visa Corporate
cardholders. The concept revolves around software written exclusively
for Visa, which extracts itemized business travel hotel expenses from
the Fidelio property management system. Visa Commercial Card issuers
then consolidate the spend information and supply the itemized data to
the corporate client, usually in electronic format.
The software allows hotel expenses to be broken down by transaction
type, i.e. telephone charges, laundry bills etc, and by hotel outlet.
The plan is to further the consolidated business expense tracking
service, which will include all aspects of business travel, i.e. air
and rail travel, car rental as well as hotel stay information for
holders of the Visa Corporate Card.
Wibecke Vinke, vice president IT & Systems, comments, Our
participation is welcomed across the Group, providing as it does
cutting-edge technology to benefit Kempinski's core market of business
travellers. The innovative scheme, already supported by several other
leading hotel groups, allows guests to submit their check-out bill for
expense claims, reducing time-consuming administrative tasks and
streamlining efficiency. Our hotels benefit from detailed tracking of
guest spend which improves targeted marketing and ensures we know more
about our guests than the competition.
