Magna Hospitality Group To Manage Casa Grande Suite Hotel In Miami's South Beach

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (Sept. 13, 2002) — Magna Hospitality Group L.C., an Annapolis, Md.-based hotel ownership and management company, has assumed the management of the Casa Grande Suite Hotel, located in the heart of South Beach's Art Deco District. The Casa Grande features 35 luxury suites and a private beach club overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
Other Magna-owned and -managed lodging properties include the Eastland Park Hotel in Portland, Maine; the Hotel Lawrence in Dallas; the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center Antietam Creek in Hagerstown, Md.; the Holiday Inn Ft. Lauderdale/Plantation/Sawgrass in Florida; and a Days Inn in Florida. Magna manages Le Grand Lodge in Quebec.
We feel extremely fortunate to manage one of the most beautiful and luxurious all-suites hotels in Miami Beach, said Magna president William F. Burruss. The Casa Grande Suite Hotel is in a class of its own with elegantly furnished Indonesian-accented studios, and one-, two- and three-bedroom suites overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in the heart of Miami's Art Deco District, in South Beach. It's the only hotel on famed Ocean Drive to have a private beach club for its guests.
Magna Hospitality, an outgrowth of the former Grand Heritage Hotels International, will build on the hotel's reputation as an intimate European style hotel with the atmosphere and privacy of a luxurious oceanfront residence. The Casa Grande Suites has nine studio suites, 22 one-bedroom suites, three two-bedroom suites, and one three-bedroom suite. All suites are equipped with a complete entertainment center (a TV, CD player, video cassette player and stereo) and a modern working kitchen. Decorated with an Indonesian flair, the accommodations include carved mahogany furniture, fine artwork, tile floors, finely woven throw rugs, large windows, and mini-bars. Some of the suites feature stone balustrade balconies with breathtaking views of the ocean or the skyline of Miami.
Guests are pampered with amenities such as 24-hour room service provided by the hotel's Mezzaluna Restaurant, and the renowned News Cafe, turndown service, plush bath robes, Aveda toiletries, and complimentary access to the hotel beach club, a private guest area that includes umbrella-shaded lounge chairs and white sandy beaches.
The Mezzaluna Restaurant, a Tuscan-style eatery, is open 8:30 a.m.-midnight for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with outdoor dining offering a birds-eye view of the people, sights and sounds of the best of Ocean Drive and South Beach. Visitors can easily walk to all of the South Beach hot spots, such as the myriad of world-renowned restaurants and nightclubs, and enjoy shopping at internationally acclaimed boutiques.
The Casa Grande Suite Hotel offers spacious and comfortable residential style suite accommodations, at a rate comparable to a small room at a typical South Beach hotel. This makes us excited to introduce and market the Casa Grande Suites to trend-conscious international and domestic tourists, entertainers, and corporate guests, noted Deborah Libster, vice president of sales and marketing for Magna Hospitality Group.
The Magna Hospitality Group was formed in 1998. Burruss, Magna's founder, also was the co-founder and president of Grand Heritage Hotels. Additional Magna principals are Paul E. Denyer, who held equity positions in Grand Heritage Hotels, and Robert A. Indeglia, who served as outside legal counsel for Grand Heritage Hotels until it was sold to Patriot American Hospitality in 1997. At the time of its sale, Grand Heritage owned and/or managed 25 historic hotels in the United States and franchised and supported more than 80 hotels in Europe.
