Hilton Worldwide and DoubleTree by Hilton today announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh – Cranberry. Located in the heart of Cranberry Township, the hotel marks the brand’s sixth property in the metropolitan Pittsburgh area. Formerly a Four Points by Sheraton, the hotel has commenced a multi-million dollar transformation as part of its rebranding effort that includes contemporary design updates across the property, a new food and beverage concept and additional enhancements to its newly-updated guest rooms. Renovations are scheduled for completion by late August 2015. The hotel has undergone new leadership that includes ownership by Elmhurst Group and DiCicco Development, Inc., and management by Prospera Hospitality, all Pittsburgh-based companies.
“At DoubleTree by Hilton, we strive to offer guests the ‘little things’ that add up to create a rewarding travel experience – starting with our warm chocolate chip cookie welcome and continuing through all touch points of our guests’ stay,” said John Greenleaf, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton. “With the guidance of the hotel’s committed and passionate new leadership team, DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh Cranberry is poised to become the premier full-service hotel choice for business and leisure travelers in the market.”
Through its ongoing renovations, DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh Cranberry will implement several exciting enhancements in the coming months including the addition of a new porte-cochere and an expansive, contemporary lobby featuring warm wood accents, natural sunlight and beautiful green space. The hotel’s recently-renovated 189 guest rooms will also see further improvements, including the addition of the luxurious Sweet Dreams® by DoubleTree sleep experience. The hotel’s expansive meeting and events space – which currently boasts over 23,000 square feet of meeting space and the second largest ballroom in the market – will be fully renovated to better meet the needs of clients and accommodate all types of gatherings, from intimate to large. The restaurant will also be revamped into a Made Market, DoubleTree by Hilton’s exclusive food and beverage concept featuring made-to-order specialties, homemade favorites and locally-inspired dishes.
Guests will continue to enjoy the hotel’s array of complimentary services and amenities, including a 24-hour fitness center, 24-hour business center, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, whirlpool, sauna and complimentary WiFi throughout the hotel’s public areas and guest rooms.
“We are very excited about bringing the DoubleTree by Hilton brand to the Cranberry community,” said Bill Hunt, president, Elmhurst Group. “Our vision for this hotel is to become a community hub – a Cranberry town square of sorts – delivering the globally-renowned DoubleTree by Hilton service culture both to guests and our local residents.”
Conveniently located at the intersection of three major thoroughfares – Interstate 79, Pennsylvania Turnpike and State Route 19 – the hotel offers guests close proximity to Pittsburgh-area businesses and attractions, including: Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, Duquesne Incline, Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium and all of the city’s professional sports venues.
In addition to the signature warm chocolate chip cookie welcome, guests will enjoy other DoubleTree by Hilton brand amenities, including an assortment of gourmet in-room tea and coffee choices from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf®, the refreshing new Aroma Actives natural skin and body care line, and an industry-recognized service culture built around the idea of CARE, which stands for Create a Rewarding Experience for guests, team members and the community.
