Creative Boutique Hotels (CBH) is pleased to announce that Southwest Virginia native and premier Chef Travis Milton has joined their team. Milton’s much anticipated restaurant, Shovel and Pick, will be a part of the Sessions Hotel complex and will reside in the old granary mill portion of the project.
The renowned chef will be developing and operating food and beverage concepts for all Creative Boutique Hotel properties in the region. “I can’t tell you how exciting this opportunity is for me,” said Milton, “It’s a rarity in this world to be able to connect with great folks who really do share a vision, and that’s what I came across when I met the Creative Boutique Hotels team. The vision they have for the property, the design styling and the services it will offer are all in line with my vision for Shovel and Pick. Having a second complimentary restaurant in the complex, Simply Grand, will offer me an even greater advantage to expand my creative culinary vision.”
“We have been looking for just the right culinary partner for our Sessions Hotel project. As it has been with the project as a whole, it has been incredibly important that we take our time and find just the right fit in a culinary partner. After meeting with Travis, understanding his vision of utilizing local farms and preparing foods that reflect the history of the region, we knew we had the right partner. We’re very excited to have him on the team and focused on all of our hotel food and beverage projects in the region,” said Kimberly Christner, President of Cornerstone Hospitality and a partner in Creative Boutique Hotels.
The Creative Boutique Hotels team also announced during the ground breaking of the Western Front Hotel that Milton will oversee the development and concept of the restaurant located at that property in St. Paul, Virginia.
The Western Front Hotel and restaurant will open in Spring/Summer 2017 and the Sessions Hotel in Bristol will open in late summer/early fall 2017.
