Motel 6 Rebuilds Near Universal Studios

DALLAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Aug. 8, 2002–Motel 6, celebrating 40 years as an American classic, is completely rebuilding the 5909 American Way location. Construction on the 149-room property began in April and is scheduled for completion in December.
The new property will utilize the Motel of the 21st Century design, featuring interior corridors, state-of-the-art heating and cooling systems, dataports in every room, computerized front desk and back office systems, a swimming pool and electronic door locks.
Because the motel is within walking distance to Universal Studios and Wet N Wild, according to Mike Davis, Area Manager, Choosing to rebuild in the same location was a simple choice. He adds, With the new design, we'll be able to provide a higher-quality lodging product, but still at the best price of any national chain.
Accor operates economy lodging leaders Motel 6 and Red Roof Inns and represents eight motels in the greater Orlando area. The project underscores Accor's commitment to quality and the guest experience.
