Phil Simms, Neil Patrick Harris and Adrian Grenier joined hundreds of guests to commemorate completion of first phase of gaming & entertainment complex
Resorts World Catskills, New York’s largest commercial casino resort with the closest proximity to Manhattan, celebrated the Grand Opening of its integrated casino resort this weekend, marking the completion of the critical first phase that marries the luxury experience with entertainment and gaming
Headlining the festivities was a performance from legendary comedian and producer Jerry Seinfeld, whose signature stand-up routine was the inaugural performance in the RW Epicenter, an intimate 2,500 seat event center. The Brooklyn native took the opportunity to welcome guests and remind them of his Catskills roots, where he began his stand-up comedy career performing at the legendary Kutsher’s Country Club, the Catskills resort that inspired the film “Dirty Dancing.”
The weekend-long celebration also featured a Grand Opening Gala attended by hundreds of VIP guests from throughout the region, including celebrities Phil Simms, Neil Patrick Harris and Adrian Grenier who joined Resorts World Catskills leadership in toasting the momentous occasion. The event included a champagne tower, bubble contortionist, and performances by cirque du soleil-style acrobats and an electric violinist, overlooking the casino resort’s two pools and high-limit private gaming salons.
“This weekend marked an exciting milestone for us and one that would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our team, local officials, and the community,” said Ryan Eller, President and Chief Executive Officer of Resorts World Catskills. “With the completion of our world-class gaming and entertainment complex, we are ready to provide our guests with the ultimate luxury gaming and entertainment experience. We’re eager to support the initiative of bringing entertainment back to the region with our newly opened RW Epicenter and restoring the Catskills as a leading resort destination.”
Resorts World Catskills’ celebration will continue throughout the month with a performance from award-winning singer and songwriter Gavin DeGraw on Friday, May 18, followed the next day by the grand opening of Cellaio, an Italian influenced steakhouse created by celebrity chef Scott Conant, who will join the festivities, along with other notable names in the culinary industry.
Resorts World Catskills is an all-season integrated resort destination that features more than 100,000 square feet of Las Vegas style gaming including 2,150 slot machines and over 150 live table games. In addition to its expansive gaming area, the casino resort also includes 10 varied bar and restaurant experiences, a 332 all-suite hotel, which includes garden suites, penthouse suites and two-story villas, the Crystal Life Spa, two fitness centers, and the 2,500 seat RW Epicenter.
