Crowne Plaza Farmington Hills Hotel Opens in Suburban Detroit

Everett House Partners announced that the 134-suite Crowne Plaza – Farmington Hills, previously the Holiday Inn Farmington Hills, has recently opened.

Located at 37529 Grand River Avenue, the property is approximately 20 minutes from downtown Detroit and offers shuttle service to nearby offices and local attractions. In addition to being owned by Everett House Partners, the property is managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts, who manages several other IHG hotels.

Larry Brown, General Manager, Crowne Plaza – Farmington Hills said: “With its proximity to Farmington and Novi, Mi. — as well as golf courses, convention centers and Fortune 500 companies — the Crowne Plaza Farmington Hills is the perfect choice for the modern business traveler, and we are thrilled to welcome our guests to the area.”

The Crowne Plaza Farmington Hills is the eighth IHG property and fourth Crowne Plaza hotel in Crescent Hotels & Resorts’ management portfolio, further demonstrating their commitment to IHG and the Crowne Plaza Accelerate program, a $200 million investment from IHG to transform the brand in the Americas region.

Michael George, President and CEO of Crescent Hotels & Resorts, said: “We have extensive experience and success across the country in full renovations and re-brandings. And our unique approach as an award-winning IHG brand hotel management company will help to maximize the potential of this great hotel. The complete renovation to all of the guestrooms and public spaces shows the owner’s commitment to providing first-rate hotel accommodations in the Metro Detroit area.”

The hotel will also include Plaza Workspace, one of the most significant innovations in the Crowne Plaza brand’s history. Seamlessly integrated in the hotel’s lobby, Plaza Workspace is a flexible meeting and work solution with various work areas that allow for solo or collaborative work. Meeting spaces are available to guests and locals alike, and the private Studio space is bookable by the hour. Each work area is equipped with a tablet for on-demand service and food and beverage ordering, no matter what time of day. The Marketplace offers “grab and go” drinks and snacks with a focus on local, healthy options and features self-checkout for maximum convenience.

All 134 guest suites will be WorkLife, a design developed around the evolving needs of modern business travelers and their blended lifestyles, that features a flexible environment with distinct zones that encourage guests to work, relax and recharge their way. The custom angle beds feature padded headboards with integrated lighting, plus multiple electrical outlets and USB ports throughout the room.

The hotel features 6,000 square feet of meeting space equipped for a variety of events, from business groups to weddings. The hotel’s team includes a certified Meetings Professional International meetings planner to help guests plan the perfect event.

The Farmington Hills hotel offers all-American cuisine featuring the Crowne Plaza Power Up breakfast as well as various lunch and dinner options at the on-site restaurant, Founders Tavern. Additional amenities include a 24-hour state-of-the-art fitness center, featuring unique equipment including free weights and a separate area for yoga and Pilates, as well as an indoor heated pool and hot tub.
