Michigan State Universitys Chapter of Eta Sigma Delta inducted 19 new members on Wednesday, March 30 at the MSU Union. Also inducted was an honorary member, Song Su Kim (BA 98), director of operations for Ukai Okemos, Ukai Lansing, and AI Fusion Sushi & Grill in East Lansing. A reception followed the ceremony at AI Fusion.
A quick-service sushi concept took first place in the Cornell Hospitality Business Plan Competition (CHBPC), sponsored by the Leland C. and Mary M. Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship at the Cornell School of Hotel Administration (SHA).

Students enrolled in The School of Hospitality Businesss Real Estate Specialization at Michigan State University have recently completed a one-credit short course on Hotel Investments and Asset Management, coordinated by Drs. Ray Schmidgall and AJ Singh.
These online courses feature the same content as the hospitality management textbooks used in colleges and universities worldwide. Each courses includes a 100-question final exam that leads to a course completion certificate for those who score 70% or higher.
The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI), in collaboration with Cardinal Point Strategies, leading security experts, hospitality industry leaders, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, has created an exclusive hospitality industry training program designed to raise employee awareness of security and terrorism issues.

High school hospitality students from around the world will gather in Orlando April 7-9 to compete for the national title in the eighth annual American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute National Lodging Management Program (LMP) Competition. The three-day event at the Rosen Shingle Creek challenges students with events based on real-world job scenarios. The competition is organized by AHLEI, via funding provided by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation (AH&LEF).
