Taj Renews Senior Partnership with Cornell Center for Hospitality Research
Taj, which takes its name from its first property, the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower in Mumbai, was founded in 1903 and now owns or operates 60 hotels in 18 nations. As senior partner, Taj's managing director and chief executive officer, Raymond Bickson, will participate in the center's advisory board, holds a seat at all of the center's Industry Roundtables, and will meet directly with researchers at the Cornell School of Hotel Administration.
'We are honored that Taj will continue its role as senior partner with Cornell's Center for Hospitality Research,' said Joseph D. Strodel, Jr., director of corporate relations at the Cornell School of Hotel Administration. 'Just as Taj has been an innovator for more than a century, Taj-and the Tata Group-continue to be forward-looking companies that clearly support improving the hospitality industry through research.'
'Cornell publishes research that is of a great value to the hospitality industry. The center's model of freely distributing this research is a great service to the global industry,' commented Bickson. 'We are pleased to continue as a senior partner with this ever-expanding research and educational enterprise.'
